As a member of the Apple family of products, the Mac mini has
always been known for its compact size and powerful performance.
A few months ago, the Mac mini was also replaced.
The new Mac
mini has a 3.2GHz Core i7. Processor, 64 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage space,
but like most high-performance PCs, the powerful performance brings a huge
amount of heat, so the CPU will overheat when running at full load. Down
frequency, affecting the experience.
So the
foreign media Appleinsider started such a test:
I started
using the Cinebench R15 to stress test the original i7 processor Mac mini. It
took only a short time for the Mac mini's CPU to reach 100 degrees
Celsius. This is the extreme value of Intel's CPU temperature.
When the temperature is stable, the CPU core frequency remains
between 3.4GHz and 3.5GHz. After several tests, the Mac mini under the
original heat dissipation achieved an average score of 1140 points.
After that, it was replaced by the violent bear Kryonaut
grease, which is unbelievable. After replacing it with a better silicone
grease, the heat dissipation did not bring about a significant improvement.
In the Cinebench R15 multiple runs, instead The average score
of only 1106 is really surprising. Finally, they replaced Arctic Silver
MX-4 grease, which is a silver-containing silicone grease, but the price is
relatively half compared to the violent bear, this time finally achieved good
results, the average score of 1152, the highest even reached 1195 high score.
It's unclear why violent bears that have always been effective
will be folded on the Mac mini, but it can be seen that the replacement of
silver-containing silicone grease can indeed bring certain benefits, but
because of this generation The Mac mini is very cumbersome to disassemble, and
there is no upgrade option other than memory.
The performance improvement caused by replacing the thermal
grease is very limited, so it is not recommended to open and replace it.
