Today, Dell has announced a new gaming monitor that fits
perfectly into any interior design and will delight you with its cool
features. The problem with the solution is that it is not a 4K
monitor.
But, let's first look at its characteristics and then we will
decide whether it is worth the money. Nevertheless, the competitors of the
novelty are darkness.
This monitor boasts a display diagonal of 31.5
inches. Here it’s worth clarifying that the name still shows the number
32, but in reality it just means that the manufacturer wanted a beautiful name.
Absolutely
everyone does it. The monitor resolution is 2560 by 1440 pixels, that is,
the screen is not 4K, but 2K, and this is perhaps the only complaint to the new
product.
Nevertheless, I would like to get such a stylish monitor with such
a large diagonal in 4K format, with a clearer picture and other
bonuses. But, we have what we have.
The matrix was built using VA
technology with wide enough viewing angles, which is completely unnecessary
with a curved matrix, and high brightness of 400 cd / m2. In terms of
characteristics, the monitor is very good and copes with all the tasks assigned
to it. It’s a pity that it’s not 4K - it would be the perfect solution for
every day.
Case design
The appearance of the Dell S3220DGF monitor tells us that the
company decided not to abandon its usual solutions and showed what a strict
gaming monitor might look like.
There is generally no mention of belonging
to the gaming industry, but at the same time the device looks extremely
expensive and cool. The minimum frames are located on the front panel at
the top, left and right, they are not noticeable at all and this allows you to
assemble the system from several monitors standing nearby.
Below there is
a small plastic insert made of silver plastic, it looks pretty stylish. On
the back of the monitor is a fairly sturdy leg, it is thick and there is a Dell
logo in blue. Plus, there is a fairly stable stand with a flat surface -
you can put a webcam there, for example.
Features
The monitor has a curved matrix and in many situations it is
really a cool thing, but rather for televisions with a diagonal of 55 inches or
more.
For a monitor with a more compact diagonal, especially at arm's
length, a curved matrix is not
necessary, because you will see all the necessary information without turning
your head.
It is also worth noting that the monitor supports AMD Radeon
FreeSync 2 HDR technology, which perfectly conveys the color palette in the
most modern games, and the frame refresh rate reaches 165 Hz.
That is, if
you are an avid gamer and want to get more pleasure from your favorite games,
then it's time to look at this model - everything is simply gorgeous in terms
of picture.
Of course, not every computer will be able to reveal 165 Hz
refresh rates, but this is absolutely not a problem in fact.
Conclusion
The Dell Monitor costs $ 600 and is quite expensive for a 2K
monitor, to be honest. Yes, it has a very cool color rendering, attractive
case design, there are a lot of interesting advantages and so on.
But,
unfortunately, there are also disadvantages in the absence of 4K for $
600. No matter how much we love Dell, it makes very cool products of the
highest quality, but it is too expensive for only 2K.
Write in the
comments if you would buy such a monitor and if so, why exactly it. Your
opinion is interesting.
