So, this is the global version of Xiaomi / Huami AMAZFIT Verge, I came across a model with built-in GPS, although, in my opinion, it is more practical to take without GPS (it’s almost half cheaper and more than autonomy).

And information about the movement can be taken from a smartphone By and large, this information only supplements the activity statistics in order to accurately record the trajectory of movement and count calories burned.

So, the watch has IP68 protection and a good AMOLED screen with high resolution. All fitness functions are available, as well as smartphone control, answering calls, displaying alerts (with Cyrillic alphabet), playing music, statistics, and so on.

Looking ahead, I’ll say that I also received the  Xiaomi Amazfit GTR smart watch , but, unfortunately, the Chinese version.

The differences and features of the Chinese and global versions of Amazfit GTR I will tell in the near future in more detail. I also note that I have been using MiBand 3 and MiBand 4 bracelets for a long time ( review and a small FAQ on the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 fitness bracelet ).

Actually, I ordered from the presence in the Russian Federation, I received it quickly enough.

 Watches are delivered in “gift” packaging, such can be presented, presented or presented as a sign of attention.

In appearance it is a stylish, strict watch in a gray case and with a silicone strap. The display is round (1.3 "), bright, informative. The bezel does not spin.

The dials are changing - there are three predefined ones, the rest can be downloaded through the application. I’ll tell you that the choice of skins is huge, there are for all tastes and with different organization of information display - you can choose "for yourself".

The watch case is plastic - it is both a plus and a minus at the same time. The watch is light and durable, scratch resistant. Let's just say that the same GTR in an aluminum case picked up scratches in the early days, and the plastic holds surprisingly.

Pay attention to the main (red) button on the side of the watch case - this is Home, a functional hardware button.

 On the back side is a slot for the barometer. 

 The watch is charged from the complete "cradle" - clothespins with pogo-pin.

On the reverse side, 4 contacts are visible for connecting via USB, as well as a window for the heart rate sensor (heart rate). The watch can track the pulse on a schedule during the day, as well as during fitness activities.

The watch looks great on the hand. Under strict clothes - too. Under sports also will not be superfluous. For the fair sex, I recommend paying attention to the white model.

 The watch can work via Bluetooth, and update via WiFi.

 Settings - there are a number of items in the menu, including turning GPS on / off, wireless connections, and factory reset (Factory Resset).

 By the way, the watch has separate menus for setting activities, viewing health statistics, and sleeping tracker settings.

 In total, 11 sports modes are preset in which statistics are stored and activity is recorded, including heart rate, steps and calories burned.

Even in bright sunshine, the contents displayed on the screen look bright and beautiful.

With fitness activities, the watch performs well. To avoid measurement errors, tighten the strap tightly.

The watch has several screens for quick access to information, alerts and statistics. Literally in 2-3 swipe you can see the necessary.

The watch autonomously records a detailed track of movements taking into account the readings of GPS, built-in accelerometer and activity profiles. Then this track can be overlaid on a map of the area in the application or exported.

 During activity, you can view alerts, pause mode, save a track, etc.

According to the results, statistics are available - steps, distance of movement, number of calories burned, etc.

In the application, you can set the general goal of daily activity. By the way, the clock decently tracks the movement of stairs, which may be interesting for those who prefer to climb on foot.

 An example of an alert from a messenger. As you can see, Cyrillic is fully supported, without abbreviations and without obscure characters.  There are no problems with the Cyrillic alphabet - all tested applications display messages correctly.

The application configures permissions for connecting applications and displaying alerts. Messengers, email clients - without any problems display the icon of the incoming message, as well as the header (or part of the message). 

The compass works without a glitch. In the application, you can set the order in which such functions are displayed for quick access, for example, a compass, weather, etc.

The weather forecast is displayed for a week, in sufficient detail. Yes, and convenient. You can scroll further - see the forecast for the following days.

Pictured is the Samsung Gear S3. As you can see, Verge looks very similar. Especially if you replace the strap with a metal or leather one and set the corresponding dial. The only thing that catches your eye is the lack of a rotating bezel.

The clock turned out to be interesting. Appearance - worthy. The display is slightly recessed - this is a big plus, which will show itself positively in the future in terms of protection against accidental scratches. 

GorillaGlass glass coating also contributes to longevity. 

The clock struck its autonomy. If you do not often use GPS or Wi-Fi, then the watch provides long-term work. In this regard, immediately think about the Verge Lite version, which is much cheaper due to the lack of a GPS module.

I really liked the white Verge - this is a stylish option in a white case and with a white strap, which will be relevant for girls.

In any case, for one hundred (plus or minus) dollars is the best choice. If we consider bracelets, then with similar autonomy and functionality, we can recommend Amazfit Bip / Bip Lite.

If you are considering compact fitness bracelets, then Xiaomi Mi Band 4, as in the new version they’ve got control over the music, as well as notifications and displays messages with the Cyrillic alphabet. 

 Once again, I will highlight the autonomy that Huami was able to provide. The AMAZFIT Verge Lite smart watch provides an ultra-long standby time of 45 days for a full charge.

If you have a Verge version with GPS, then this value is reduced to 20 days. Naturally, everything depends on the included interfaces and the activity of using GPS, heart rate sensor.

If used non-stop, then less than 5 days it did not work out for me. The result is amazing, especially against the background of other smart watches.
