Not often these days you will find an active user who
does not have the icon of any messenger or VoIP client on the smartphone’s
desktop. Indeed, programs such as Viber, Telegram or WhatsApp not only
diversify communication between people, but also help to significantly save on
mobile services.
However, there are a number of inconveniences associated
with the use of instant messengers, for example, saving images from chats to
the regular iOS application Photo, which not only forces the user to take
unnecessary actions to delete unnecessary pictures, but also consumes the
device’s physical memory.
In addition, mobile traffic is also not free, which means
that especially communicative users should think about saving it. Therefore, in
most applications, special options are provided for this.
How to disable autosave Photos and Videos in Whats App
We go to the settings section (button in the lower right
corner of the screen) and select the “Chats” item, in which you need to
deactivate the “In Camera Roll” switch.
In addition, the “Data and storage” settings section may
be useful. There is a category of “Media Startup”, which sets limits for
processing various files (excluding voice messages) depending on the type of
current Internet connection.
For example, you can allow downloading photos and
documents at any connection, while prohibiting the processing of audio and
video using the mobile Internet. In addition, there is a function of “Data
Saving”, which will allow you to spend less traffic when making calls.
How to disable autosave Photos and Videos in Viber
Click the “More” tab in the main menu and select the
item Settings → Multimedia.
Here, in addition to the “Save to Gallery” switch
(saving to the Photo application), there are also automatic download options in
mobile communication networks (“Auto Download Content”), as well as automatic
video playback settings and an option to limit traffic in mobile networks.
The
latter will affect the quality of the connection when making calls.
How to disable autosave Photos, Videos, voice messages and files in Telegram
The Telegram application does not automatically save
incoming data in the Photo application, but at the same time provides ample
opportunities for setting up automatic loading of content into the messenger
itself.
To configure automatic upload of photos, videos, voice
messages and files to Telegram, go to Settings →
Data and memory. There are two sections here: “Via a mobile network” and “Via
Wi-Fi”, which contain the startup options for all files in the application.
If you set the “Download automatically” switch to the
“On” position, you will be able to configure automatic downloading of content
in accordance with various scenarios, for example, photos and videos only from
contacts or in other personal chats when using Wi-Fi or via mobile
communication.
If you deactivate the “Download automatically” switch,
all incoming data (photos, videos, voice messages and files) will need to be
downloaded manually by pressing the button with the arrow.
Also, Telegram settings can reduce traffic consumption,
as well as enable or disable the automatic playback of GIF animations and video
clips.
