June 9th
news, according to foreign media AndroidPolice reported, recently, Delhi High
Court of India made a judgment on the case of Asus "Zen" trademark
infringement, claiming that Asus "Zen" trademark constitutes
infringement, therefore prohibiting ASUS from using "ZenFone" in
India Brand, this ruling will take effect in eight weeks.
It is
reported that this time, ASUS was brought to court by a local Indian company
called Telecare Network, which registered the “Zen” and “ZenMobile” trademarks
as early as 2008.
The Telecare Network believes that the “ZenPhone” series
of phones that Asustek began selling in India in 2014 are similar in name and
price to their own “ZenMobile” brand.
Consumers are likely to confuse the two
at the time of purchase and therefore appeal.
At
present, ASUS seems to have accepted this judgment.
According to the news,
Asustek's ZenPhone 6 mobile phone has been officially renamed in Flipkart,
India's largest e-commerce retailer, from ASUS ZenPhone 6 to ASUS 6Z.
