The Federal Service for Supervision in Education and
Science (Rosobrnadzor) will use machine vision technology, which will identify
students who write off on the Unified State Exam (USE).
It is planned to
introduce such a system next year, said Sergey Kravtsov, head of the
department.

It is assumed that the neural network will analyze the
picture received from the cameras installed in the audience for suspicious
activity in real time.
If the computer vision system detects unusual behavior -
for example, someone starts talking or stands up - she will notify a human
observer who will view the recording from the right minute.
Machine analysis technology will be tested in several
regions of Russia in 2020, Interfax reports. Where exactly the tests will be
passed is not specified.
The Russian language exam is written in more than 50
thousand classrooms across the country, explained the head of Rosobrnadzor,
therefore, to control all students, it will be necessary to train and
coordinate 12.5 thousand observers.
According to Kravtsov, artificial
intelligence is designed to increase the efficiency of monitoring the process
of passing the exam and reduce costs.
In addition, the agency is testing face recognition
technology at the USE to prevent another person from passing the exam for a
graduate.
According to preliminary tests conducted earlier this year in one of
the Russian regions, the system was recognized as “technically promising,”
Kravtsov said.
