Ryzen Threadripper 3960X - 24-core seven-inch processor with Intel Core i9-9900KS

Intel Core i9-9900KS overclocked to 5.2 GHz with all active cores and air cooling

Intel Core i9-9900KS not yet on sale
While AMD is strengthening the Ryzen 3000 line with another eight-core processor in anticipation of the release of the Core i9-9900KS , one of the users of the American Reddit forum got this Core i9-9900KS - and dispersed it.

If Intel said that the CPU runs at 5.0 GHz with all active cores, then the enthusiast managed to raise the frequency to 5.2 GHz.

Overclocker under the nickname FR33_L35T3R used standard components - an Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero motherboard (Wi-Fi) and a couple of Patriot DDR4-2666 MHz memory modules. The cooling system appeared to be airy. An enthusiast increased the core voltage to 1.36 V in the BIOS, and that was enough.

If the regular Core i9-9900K scores about 4980 points in the Cinebench R20 benchmark, and the standard version of the Core i9-9900KS - about 5260 points, then the overclocked Core i9-9900KS “earned” about 5350 points.

Well, modest overclocking is modest and an increase in productivity. However, if conventional components and an air cooling system allow this, then why not?

Ryzen Threadripper 3960X - 24-core seven-inch processor

And this is just the beginning of a new line

The web has information about the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X processor. This is a 24-core CPU, and AMD mentioned it in its only official image related to the new Ryzen Threadripper.

It is assumed that this will be the youngest CPU in the line, and the 64-core model will be the oldest. If that is the case, then the second generation Ryzen Threadripper will have to remain in service, as the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X will obviously be quite expensive.

Another source also reports that the TDP of the new CPUs will reach 280 watts, like the new Epyc CPUs, but this obviously only applies to flagship models. Recall, the new Ryzen Threadripper processors debut sometime in November.
