The latest update for Galaxy S2, which went on sale in 2011, was Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, released in 2013. Galaxy Note 3 came out in 2013 and received its latest update in 2015 with Android 5.0 Lollipop. After that, Samsung terminated official support for these devices and did not offer new updates.
It is impressive that the Android developer community strives for the Galaxy S2 even after nine years. Note 3 is now seven years old, and the community's support is proof that the phone was once very popular.

Although Android 10-based LineageOS 17.1 has not been officially released yet, unofficial structures for some devices are available. There is a problem with the ROM for Galaxy S2: Radio Interface Layer (RIL) is unstable and you cannot make phone calls and use mobile data. So it is not possible to use the structure daily. There is no such problem in the ROM for Galaxy Note 3.
Installing Android 10-based LineageOS 17.1 on Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Note 3 can give your device a new life. But let's say that this job is not very simple and requires some knowledge about custom ROMs. To get started, you need to root your device and then install a custom recovery.

You can download Android 10 LineageOS 17.1 for Galaxy S2, for Galaxy Note 3.
